AFTERCARE
1.
Make sure your hands are always clean before touching the tattooed area while its healing) Remove cover 1 hour after the tattoo.
2.
Wash the area gently with warm water and Dial liquid anti-bacterial soap.
3.
Rinse area well, then dab dry with a clean paper towel. You will not need to cover the tattoo ever after this point. It is best to let it air out. Be careful while sleeping the first night, not to sleep on the tattooed area or wear anything tight fitting.
4.
Next morning... wash the area again with warm water and anti-bacterial soap. (same washing procedure as the prior day) Rinse thoroughly then dab dry with a clean paper towel.
5.
Wait 15-20 minutes, then apply aftercare (Hustle Butter, Aveeno, Lubriderm, or Curel are all acceptable aftercare products) Apply a very light coat. Try not to over do it with the aftercare because it can lead to healing issues.
6.
After that mornings washing you will not need to wash the area on its own again. Showers are fine. Be very care not to scrub the area with anything abrasive. Make sure not to rub the tattoo while towel drying. Always dab dry the area after showering until the scabbing has completely fallen off.
7.
You will need to apply aftercare 1-2 times per day for the next two weeks or until the scabbing has completely fallen off. Again…do not over do it with the aftercare. A light coat is all you need. It is very important that your tattoo is completely dry before applying aftercare. Applying aftercare to a healing wet tattoo will inevitably cause healing issues.
8.
You will need to keep your tattoo out of direct sun for 2 weeks.
9.
No wading in salt water, chlorine water, lake water. No baths, or sitting in hot tubs for 2 weeks or until the scabbing is completely gone.
10.
Your tattoo will itch while healing….DO NOT SCRATCH IT AND DO NOT PICK THE SCAB. Let the scabbing fall off on its own.
11.
Never use Neosporin or A&D on your healing tattoo.
12.
If your tattoo looks like its starting to have healing issues, refrain from putting anything else on it and call the shop asap to speak with one of our artist.
